STEVE PERRY

Steve has over 20 years experience working as a physiotherapist after gaining a physiotherapy degree from Brunel University London. He previously studied Sports Science in South Africa and worked in hip and knee implant sales before starting out on his physiotherapy journey. He has worked in both the NHS and private practices for many years, latterly working as the lead hydrotherapist and senior physiotherapist at The Clavadel Rehabilitation Centre, Guildford from 2015-2021. During this time there, he fostered many important relationships with leading surgeons and now combines these relationships with his expert orthopaedic rehabilitation skills ensuring a unified team approach to patient recovery. 

Steve set up The Joint Physio after identifying a lack of immediate post operative physiotherapy care. The Joint Physio aims to provide patients with immediate physiotherapy care in the comfort of their own homes providing all the support and guidance a patient needs.

HELEN COLLIER

With a career in rehabilitation spanning 25 years and a focus on pre and post op orthopaedic recovery for the last 15 years, Helen is perfectly positioned to advise on preparation for and recovery from orthopaedic surgery.

She was the lead physio at The Clavadel rehabilitation unit in Guildford from 2014-2021 and now combines her independent practice with being lead outpatient physiotherapist. Over the last 15 years she has worked closely with many orthopaedic surgeons and their teams countrywide to provide a joined up approach to patient care.

EMMA PEPPIATT

Emma has over 30 years of experience as a physiotherapist. She trained at St Thomas’ Hospital in London, graduating in 1991. She has worked at leading NHS hospitals in London, including The Royal Free Hospital, St George’s Hospital, and The Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. She also practised in the private sector in Geneva and The New Victoria Hospital in Kingston-Upon Thames. Emma has extensive specialist skills and experience in aquatic therapy practices. In 2013, she founded h2o physio, a private aquatic therapy practice based in Teddington. She is a clinical specialist in musculoskeletal, orthopaedic conditions and aquatic therapy.

CHRISSIE CUMMING

Chrissie trained as a physiotherapist in South Africa. Since moving to the UK in 2011, she has worked in multiple areas of physiotherapy with a special interest in rehabilitation and orthopaedics. She has been a physiotherapist at the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre and a senior member of staff at The Clavadel rehabilitation unit in Guildford, specialising in post operative orthopaedic rehab. Chrissie takes a holistic approach to working with each individual, not only focusing on the acute issue but any potential influence from lifestyle factors and previous movement habits. She has trained as a pilates instructor and finds great benefit in using these principles to complement overall body rehabilitation.

EMMA BARRACLOUGH

Emma has been a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists for 20 years and has a BSc Hons in Physiotherapy gained at King’s College, London. At Imperial NHS trust, London she treated patients with acute and long term medical rehabilitation needs including respiratory, neurological, orthopaedic and musculoskeletal problems, as well as balance and falls rehabilitation. As a specialist rehabilitation physiotherapist she also led a multidisciplinary team, providing holistic therapy for people with complex needs as a result of orthopaedic surgery, falls, stroke and long term illness. Emma has spent the last 8 years working as a senior physiotherapist at The Clavadel, using her experience in exercise therapy, massage, clinical pilates and gait re-education to help clients reach their full recovery potential.

TESSA SINCLAIR

Tessa has a passionate interest in rehabilitation working for many years at The Clavadel since it first opened in 2014. During that time she managed all admissions for patients and the detailed follow up treatment process. This included offering guidance and information about physiotherapy and rehab expertise in response to all initial enquiries.  She is a strong advocate of the benefits of physiotherapy and has gained valuable knowledge during her time in healthcare which she enjoys passing on to patients from initial contact. Her commitment and caring approach to patients continues in her role at The Joint Physio.

SARAH LUSCOMBE

Sarah has been working in administrative roles for many years with a focus on physiotherapy and rehab expertise for the past 20 years. She has  worked as part of a close knit team within a very busy physiotherapy inpatient and outpatient department at Mount Alvernia Hospital in Guildford for 10 years. Since then, she joined the administrative team at The Clavadel where she worked closely with physiotherapists using her skills and knowledge. She joined the current team 2 years ago where she continues to enjoy using both her experience in administration and patient interaction.
